Giving IT Day is in less then 72 hours, and we are all set to go.
What have we done so far?
- We received more than 800 request for computers
- We have 10 volunteers that have applied to help during Giving IT Day. 10 kind people that will give their time to help others.
- We have 15 computers donations ( I know, not that many)
- We started the crowfunding campaing that will run until 06/12.
- We have 2 corporate partners that are contributing to this event: Xpand IT & The Wave Factory, and we are still waiting for more answers.
I personally believe that results could be much better that they are, but my mantra is “this is better than nothing”. We should not give up just because is hard, or just because the results are not going to be what we have dream of. I know for sure that at least 15 non-for-profits will receive a computer.
As Eric Cantona said at Websummit “What if we all donate 1 % of your time to a social cause?” How different would be the world? So if you are not able to fix 100% the problem, let’s fix what is possible to do.
